How safe is this mounting; will diamonds fall out?

Some mountings are hand crafted.  This allows for some slight variation between each individual ring. Some mountings are machine set, or made by computer.  These mountings tend to be safer, because computer setting allows for a very small margin of error.  You must remember that anything can happen to any ring, regardless of what may be safest.  Ultimately, the ring’s condition depends on the wearer.  See our “How to care for your Frost purchase” section for helpful tips on how to keep your ring problem free.

I work a lot with my hands, what kind of metal is toughest for men’s wedding bands?

Men have many different metals to choose from.  If you work a lot with your hands, we suggest very price conscious and tough metals called cotemporary (i.e. tungsten, titanium, stainless steel, cobalt, and ceramic).  They are very durable and scratch resilient, but not totally resistant metals.  These metals allow for basic maintenance to keep their appearance up.

Can my ring be sized in the future?

For most rings, yes.  Silver, gold, palladium, and platinum can all be sized (men and/or women items).  Most rings can move two sizes up or down without ruining the integrity of the piece.  If your ring size needs to drastically change, we will order in your appropriate size.  However, contemporary metals cannot be sized.  In that case, we will send back your contemporary metal item to the proper manufacturer and exchange size.

How should I clean my gold and diamond jewelry?

Gold is both versatile and very easy to keep looking beautiful for years to come.  Its worst enemy, however, is chlorine.  Repeated exposure can weaken gold's structure, eventually leading to breakage.  Try to keep your gold jewelry away from chlorinated cleaning products, swimming pools and Jacuzzis. To clean, use your Frost jewelry cleaner or lukewarm, soapy water.  Rinse with clean water, then dry and polish with a soft cloth.  For harder-to-clean pieces, visit our showroom.  For more information on cleaning jewelry see our “How to care for your Frost purchase” section.

Where does my ring go during repairs?

We are lucky to have all of your jewelry repair needs done right on sight in the Clark Building.  Our repair shops are right upstairs, giving you comfort that your jewelry is not traveling too far.  For specific maintenance, your item may be sent to the manufacture for further review.  Most repairs take a few days to a week to complete.

Are your diamonds certified?

Yes.  We use multiple certification labs, but we are happy to provide a specific certifier at the customer’s request.  Each lab applies different criteria and standards when performing an assessment.  As a consumer, you will see the difference between a diamond you think is beautiful and one that is not to your standards, regardless of the certifier.  See our “Certification” section for more information.
